Candle Care
The better you treat your candle...
..., the better it will treat you!
Proper candle care not only enhances the longevity and performance of your candles but also ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.
By following a few simple guidelines, you can maximize the burn time, maintain the fragrance, and prevent common issues such as tunneling or soot.
Let's get started !
Place on a stable surface
An uneven or unstable base can cause the candle to burn unevenly, and melted wax might flow out, posing a fire hazard. Ensure your candle is secure to enjoy a safe and even burn.
Trim the wooden wick
Before lighting, trim the wooden wick to 0.5 cm - 1 cm and remove old burned wood. This ensures a cleaner, safer burn, prevents excessive smoke, and helps the candle last longer.
Burn for 1 h to prevent tunneling
Burn your candle for at least 1 hour to prevent tunneling. Ensure the wax melts completely before blowing out the flame. Use a hair dryer to even out wax if tunneling occurs.
Keep wax free from dust & dirt
Keeping the wax pool free from dust and dirt is important for a clean and safe burn. Dust and dirt can disrupt the flame, leading to uneven burning, sooting, or flare-ups.
Keep away from flammables
Keep candles away from flammable materials to prevent fires. Placing candles near flammable objects increases the risk of ignition. Ensure a safe environment by maintaining a safe distance.
Burn for up to 4 hours at a time
Burning a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time can lead to excessive heat build-up, causing the container to overheat, potentially crack, and significantly shorten its burn time.
Wood wicks for a cozy ambiance
Wood wick candles present several distinct advantages. Firstly, they are celebrated for their sustainability, as wood is a renewable resource. Unlike cotton wicks, wood wicks tend to produce less soot, contributing to a cleaner burn and better air quality indoors.
Additionally, one of the charming features of wood wick candles is the delightful crackling sound reminiscent of a cozy fireplace. This subtle yet soothing ambiance enhances relaxation and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere in any space.
Why we use soy wax for our candles
Soy wax candles are a sustainable alternative to other candles. Derived from soybeans, which are fast-growing and renewable, soy wax is environmentally friendly. Unlike paraffin wax, made from petroleum, soy wax burns cleanly without emitting harmful substances.
Burning paraffin wax can release pollutants like petroleum into the air, which can degrade indoor air quality and potentially cause respiratory issues over time. Choosing soy wax promotes a cleaner and healthier environment for you and your home.
